There are three types of hospital rooms available to patients at St. Joseph's:
Standard Ward
More than two patients per room, covered by OHIP, no additional charge.
Semi-Private
Two patients per room, daily fee charged. Insurance details must be provided, as well as a deposit.
Private
One patient per room, some have private bathrooms; daily fee charged. Insurance details must be provided, as well as a deposit.
Most patient rooms can accommodate televisions, and you may rent one from us. Please do not bring electronics with you, and check with your nurse before using any electrical appliance.
Most patient rooms are equipped with telephones. There may be daily fees for their use. Pay phones are located on each floor and in the cafeteria.
Assistive listening devices for improved hearing are available. We offer TTY machines, TTY telephones, and a variety of other technical devices available for patient use. The TTY phone number is 416-530-6820.
To help provide a welcome environment for patients and visitors, St. Joseph's Health Centre is allowing the use of cell phones and wireless communication devices in public and general clinic areas.
