Quality and Safety

Providing the safest care possible to our patients is very important to us. We have a saying at St. Joseph's Health Centre that "patient safety is everybody’s responsibility".

So why is this important to us? As a community teaching hospital serving the diverse communities of south west Toronto, our patients and their families rely on us each and every day to provide safe, quality care.

There are many initiatives and strategies that go into helping us achieve our strategic commitment of Putting Patients First by providing the safest care.

This section of our website helps to show the people we serve and those who serve with us, how we are doing towards our strategic commitments. By posting our patient safety indicators publicly on our website - something we have been doing for over three years now - shows you how we are performing.

View our Quality and Patient Safety web videos (click on the image below) to hear personal accounts of how we are Putting Patients First right from the people delivering health care services to you.

Throughout this Patient Safety section we are asking for your feedback! Use the new feedback buttons to tell us how we can improve the information we are providing you. We have also created a "quick poll" to track how useful this information is to our community in case you don't have time to send us your feedback.
