SJHC's vision is to be 'Canada’s Best Community Teaching Hospital.' Providing ongoing education opportunities for our learners (employees, physicians, students/medical trainees and volunteers) helps us to achieve this vision, and underlines the value we place on being a learning organization.

One of our success factors is ‘Creating a Culture of Inquiry & Innovation.’ A number of our strategic priorities also have direct links with education. These include: ‘Invest in our people,’ ‘Develop our Leaders,’ and ‘Partner to Educate the Next generation of Health Professionals.’ Together, we work to create and foster a culture of interprofessional collaboration and to acquire new knowledge that improves health outcomes.

As an organization, we believe that by learning with, from and about each other in an intentional and collaborative manner, we can leverage individual and team capacities to support the delivery of exceptional quality and service.
