St. Joseph’s Health Centre provides a wide range of ongoing education activities and events for employees/physicians. There are a large number of rounds, inservice education sessions and training programs that run on site. Some examples of regularly schedules events include:

Interprofessional Education Week

This week recognizes the interprofessional learning and collaboration at St. Joseph's and highlights our Vision to be Canada's Best Community Teaching Hospital. The fair provides an opportunity for the Health Centre's nurses, doctors, staff and students to share and sharpen their skills in a hands-on way while showcasing the groundbreaking interprofessional work being done at St. Joe's. Clinical Day

Each year, St. Joseph's hosts a day of scientific abstracts, speakers and clinical rounds presentations from our local Health Care Community. Save the date for our 57th Annual Clinical Day on Friday November 2, 2012. Click here for details on this year's event.

The Preceptorship/Mentorship Workshop

This quarterly workshop is a faculty development opportunity for employees who will be working with students and/or new team members. It is interactive and experiential - addressing key information about: the preceptor/mentor experience, learning styles/principles/theories, communication & conflict management, fair evaluation and learning plans.

Leadership Development

SJHC offers leadership training for both employees and physicians. Participants experience: leadership models, collaborative learning, 360 feedback & coaching and the opportunity to complete an experiential learning leadership project.
