Lilly Ferraro Award for Nursing Excellence in Family-Centered Care

The Toronto Star presents the Nightingale Award every year to an Ontario nurse who has touched the lives of patients, families, and peers, in a remarkable way.

In 2008, SJHC’s own Lilly Ferraro was the recipient of this prestigious award. A patient who received care from Lilly while she was working in the Family Birthing Centre at SJHC submitted the nomination.

In recognition and honour of Lilly's continued commitment and dedication to providing family-centered care to our patients and families, SJHC established this award in 2010

This $1000.00 award will be granted to the nurse who best demonstrates the core concepts of family-centered care.
