SJHCtakes pride in celebrating the contributions of our employees, and does this through a number of recognition programs. Below is a list of those recognition programs. Please also see our Legend Awards and Nursing Excellence Awards.

Service & Beyond
This recognition program engages Health Centre staff, physicians, and volunteers to acknowledge others who demonstrate SJHC's Values - human dignity, excellence, compassion, social responsibility, and community of service - through their accomplishments and efforts at the Health Centre. Since its inception in May 2002, over 4,200 Health Centre staff, physicians and volunteers have been recognized.

Long Service Tea
This recognition event celebrates employees who have contributed five or more years of service to SJHC. Each year, a special celebration is held to honour these employees who have served five, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 years (or more for some staff!) of service at SJHC.

Retirement Tea
A special ceremony is held every year for employees who have faithfully served SJHC. Family, friends and colleagues are invited to attend to celebrate their retirement. Occupational Health and Safety Services Awards of Excellence - this award is given out each year during Occupational Health and Safety Week and is given to individuals, committees or departments in the Health Centre who have created and implemented safety initiatives that promote a safer work environment for staff.
