St. Joseph's Health Centre is committed to providing the highest quality of patient care to residents living in Toronto's west end. Our redevelopment project will ensure that we continue to meet the healthcare needs of the community, however, St. Joseph's is also committed to being a good community partner.

This section of the website has been created to ensure ongoing communications with our neighbours as we work through our redevelopment phases.

Current Redevelopment Phase - Construction of our new Our Lady of Mercy Patient Care Wing

Construction has started on our new 130,000 sq.ft 4-storey patient care wing. A shovel in the ground ceremony was held September 10, 2009 with the Minister of Health, David Caplan to celebrate.

Our planned $73 million development is expected to be completed by 2012. Named after the former Our Lady of Mercy Hospital, the new facility will provide the highest quality of care closer to home for our tiniest patients in a state-of-the-art Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, a new Paediatric Unit, and an expanded Family Birthing Centre.

Completed in the Spring of 2009, our new underground parking garage has also opened. The new patient care wing is being built on top of the garage, which will accommodate parking for 300 cars. The new garage is currently only open for staff parking while the new wing is being built.
