title

Ten years ago, St. Joseph's Health Centre joined four other hospitals in an electronic health record pilot known today as the Child Health Network of Toronto.

The five pilot sites - the Hospital for Sick Children, St. Joseph's Health Centre, Rouge Valley Health System, Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital and St. Elizabeth Care Health are now apart of a huge conglomerate of all organizations providing paediatric care in the Greater Toronto Area sharing health information and practices in paediatric care.

Some of the benefits of The Child Health Network:

  • Provides a record of medical visits for paedatric patients including a stringent set of criteria and protocol for merging and managing medical records from many different health care institutions into one cohesive secure medical record.
  • Provides physicians with a means of following up on paediatric patients referred to specialists.
  • Provides professional forum for paediatric physicians on the protocols and training.
